Kopi Luwak - Civet Coffee..It's new to me!

That's exactly my reaction everytime being offered for a cup of Coffee. I'm actually a Tea person. English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Chamomile...NEVER ever Green Tea;-) The beautiful selection of tea from Twinings, Boh, Lipton & AhmadTea of London.  Just Lovely!

Okay..not gonna talk about tea but Coffee and its the rare Civet Coffee or Kopi Luwak.  Famous in the US & UK?! Wow..me just came to know bout it from a friend in FB.  She tried a cup of civet coffee @ Bangsar Shopping Centre for a free trial actually it costs around RM30 per cup (RM538.80 per 100gm).  That's bloody expensive! Even Starbucks L size doesn't cost that much. So, just curious and wanted to know more about this Exotic Coffee.  Feel so ignorant, for all the uncountable trips to  Jakarta, Medan, Bali, Bandung...and yet I didn't even know about this Civet Coffee thingy.  Never to late for an additional general knowledge, we learn something new everyday, don't we?
