Jessleton...

In case you're wondering where in the world Jessleton is ?! It's the old name for Kota Kinabalu!  Where to in KK? Besides the beautiful beaches they're quite a number of shopping malls in KK town, the latest one is Suria Sabah and of coz happening Nightlife too here! Will come to that later;-)

I'm not going to elaborate in detail on the malls, since I think we are open for more choices in KL except a few years back, the first Charles & Keith outlet was 1st opened and only available in KK. Surprised?! A'ha The Charles & Keith,Singapore brand..actually, my ex-colleague who's a Sabahan kinda introduced me to this particular brand and she even offered me to use her member's card to get 10% discount. So that's a bit of 'history' of my first red C&K wedges. Since then I'm a big fan of Charles & Keith shoes & handbags. All the way to Singapore just to grab the latest collection. Good quality, gorgeous design at an affordable price. Now, C&Ks already in TOWN at Pavilion, Sunway Pyramid, Midvalley & 1Utama.

Alrite, back to my KK 'pitstop'...We had dinner at Jessleton Point not the usual spot at Waterfront which I personally think this is much better and cool 'Makan Place'.

*pix taken by HTC - disappointing results worst then BB*

What to eat..from which stall???! Your choice..

warm n breezy nite...
*pic credit to: Mohd Boboy *not Boboy my bro ye*

Nasi Goreng 1Malaysia (1M Fried Rice) from 'Restoran 1Malaysia'...

& Kichaiping *famous drink in KK*
nothing special or unusual just
*Air limau + Asam boy*

Hmmm.. I didn't order anything and end up only having a glass of Ice Barley. No..no not because of the place of coz not, its a nice place with variety choices, many stalls and also a 'Nasi Padang' Restaurant. Just no appetite to eat after about 2 1/2-hour flight sitting on the same row with a boy (I think he's 6 or 7 yrs old accompanied by his mom, dad & other sibblings)  who happened to have a bad "Air Sickness" from takeoff to landing. Gosh! Its a horrible experience, really my first time ever seeing a person using almost 12 sickness bags during the whole flight. Huhhh..lucky he's not sitting next to me and I was still way far from him.  Its just not my lucky day & its the 'longest' flight ever due to the very uncomfy ambiance!bluekkk:-(

Whateva it is we had a pleasant night & chill out at D'Junction with Live Music..Cheers^;^

Isn't this nice?!! Look at the view...even its just at the back of a market place.  Yup, the famous Filipino Market.

Oh dear..Fishing under the hot burnin' sun! Kesian:-(

Dried Prawn, Anchovies, Dried Fish, Dried Squid..all very CHEAP!

Not only these dried stuff but also handicraft, souvenirs, T-shirts etc available here. Filipino Market, definitely a must see place for tourist visiting KK.

Gotta stop right here, to be continued in my next entry;-)

Nite nite!

Doorstep Online Grocery....

Grocery shopping is a necessity for every household regardless the amount, budget or the frequency of purchase. In short, everyone needs to shop for groceries. How much you spend, types of groceries & how many times a month are all depend on your '$$$' capability.

Once a month & a big bulk that's my way of doing grocery and I believe its a common trend for every household & of coz it varies to one's preference, could be daily or weekly.  At times, you might come across a situation where you really need to have certain grocery stuff or items which are unplanned but necessary. Hmm...its a regular thing to me especially for baking & frozen stuff. A quick grabbed at the nearest mart or hypermarket either Giant or Tesco.

Therefore, when I saw the link to "Doorstep Online Grocery" on one of my friend's fb wall post, I was excited and of course eager to know more about it. A simple way of doing grocery shopping without having to think about how do I look, my hair, what to wear, who's going with me *oops sorry that's so me:))) or maybe no transport to go out etc etc.  So, with this great facility in front of your eyes its so EASY & hell-yeah!!!

Here're some of the webshots...

e.g: Pillsbury Cake Mix - same price with Tesco RM9.90 and Pancake Mix RM14.50 slightly cheaper than Jaya Grocer

Hey..not bad cut vegetables too!

Convenient.. it is!!!

I know these must be the 3 main Qs  (?) that you've been waiting to ask right...;-) Delivery Time + Charges, Payment method & Minimum purchase?
  1. Orders made  before noon, between (12am - 1159am) will be delivered the same day while for orders made beyond that time, goods will be delivered the next day. They do have certain time slots.  Delivery Charges is FOC till end of this month  (28feb) and a standard delivery fee between Rm8-10 will be charged after that.
  2. Payment options - Cash on delivery, Credit/Debit card & internet banking (Maybank 2U, Cimb Clicks etc).
  3. Minimum purchase is RM50 during this promotion period till end of feb ONLY. The standard minimum order is RM100.
Just log on to the website www.doorstep.com.my   for the simple registration step & more details info especially on the COVERAGE AREA! They've pretty much covered the prime area within Klang Valley though our township is yet to be listed in their radar:-( Soon I hope...or otherwise I can always use alternative address since I'm too excited to try out their service.

Btw, just to share my friend's order items that were delivered by 'doorstep' to her house recently *who indirectly introduce me to this online grocery through fb*

Its proven!!!
Maria: sorry ya! 'kidnapped' this pic from yr fb hehe-)

Enjoy your "hassle-free" grocery shopping peeps!!  Say NO to long queue..*lalala*  Simplify your life......

Cheers!

Auckland Airport...

"Every story has an end.." so does this KiWiLand journal, here comes the last chapter;-)

MH130 AKL-KUL @ 2:15pm that's our flight! *11:10 to 2:15 errmm...a long wait indeed*

The Auckland Airport locally known as Mangere Airport about 21km from the city centre & apparently its the largest and busiest airport in NZ.

eh eh..2bags + ONE MORE bag *wink*
"Always Come Prepared" hahaha

Check-In counter still CLOSED.  Too darn early...^-^

...stepped outside to get some fresh air

Toyota Prius Hybrid - Airport Taxi okayyy!!:)))

Such a pleasant weather...

Excellent! At least I can just chillax for 2hours....

note to Mr. Photographer: adjust ur cam setting please, a bit too bright hearyh!!!

Yup this is much better...Cappuccino for ME & Caffè Latte for HIM

Retro feel...;-)

Owh..of coz no FREE WiFi outside the airport but you can actually pay to access a WiFi hotspot there. Bored, Nothing To Do..then what else!  "Vlogging":-))))

*oops...I meant to say check-in counter instead of ticket counter*

Wokey, done with the Vlog.  Another one hour to hang around at the terminal.  Thanks to Samsung for providing the Free WiFi booth in the airport lobby area though limited to 2 desktops only BUT...

I think the facility is more for those who urgently need to check info on hotels, car rental, flights
or anything important related to their trips
rather than....

FB-ing...this absolutely can wait!

CNY banners are everywhere, even more at Sky City with lanterns..
NZ in Gong Xi Fa Cai mode;-)

SurfNZ kiosk @ departure hall,  $10 (NZD) for 60mins = MYR24 an hour
helloo...WiFi  is provided Free of Charge at KLIA!
Again ILUVMalaysia:)))))

Its normal to have some dissatisfaction feelings when you travel,  a lil bit here n there, this n that can be anything or anywhere. As for me, the NZ Immigration Check at the airport wasn't very warm & welcoming atmosphere. Most of our friends did warn us about the strict regulations on bringing food items into NZ as well as OZ.  That's why we decided not to bring any food with us.

This pic was taken on the day we arrived (at the Immigration Check Point upon arrival)...

wooo...a very long queue at the immigration check~

No food items or anything related to declare, follow this lane....pheww!

BioSecurity New Zealand.  Errmm... if you travel to NZ or OZ much easier not to bring food items.  Both have strict rules about bringing food or animals into the country. *tedious process*

A lady from the Auckland Airport Management approached me at the departure hall for 10mins of my time to fill up the Airport Survey Questionnaire about the facilities, Immigration, staff etc. Hey! Just right on time...Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent?? I surely do have time to give the 'ratings' they deserve:))

Ho..Ho..Ho..Malaysian Hospitality indeed~

Aircraft meal still taste average
but at least better than the pack meal for back seat passengers..

 dessert...alwizz yummy!!

2hrs before landing...

It was a wonderful "2in1" trip & definitely a place to visit again, have yet to see the glacier, Rotorua, Wellington & so many other interesting places in NZ, This is just AUCKLAND! Malaysia Airlines flies 5 times weekly to Auckland (except Tuesday & Sunday) click here for the website.

Bubbye KiWiLand...XoXo

Auckland: Shopping Malls, Outlets, Shops....

KIA ORA *Hi! or Hello in Maori language, pronounced as Key-Or-Ra*
back to KiwiLand Chapter...

Did we take the train?

Yes we did..off to "New Market" station,  its not a market, "market" okay its a shopping district considered as a premier retailing area and also the fashion capital of NZ.

Nope.. not going barefoot! My shoes still intact but 'someone' bought a pair of flip flops to change with the shoes in the plastic bag (as seen in the pic above) for a comfy reason after a longgggggg..walk *kaki melecet slalunya org pompuan kan hahaha*

Westfield shopping centre
but my 2 fav outlets not hearyh:-(
Massimo Dutti & ZARA 'nowhere to be found' in Auckland *sigh*

If I were to compare the SUMMER SALE in Europe, back in Munich & Amsterdam last year...its way too expensive in NZ.  Esprit, Adidas just to name a few its almost the same  price with Malaysia or much higher "its also due to currency rates* and even Cotton On. I guess NZ its not the place to shop till you drop kinda thing. Anyhoo, the NZ company, Glassons brand is quite cheap and they had a great sale deal Buy 1 Free 1....Awesome n its worth it!!

"Let's walk around New Market...."

the outlets..

Supermarket- grocery stuff & I find this interesting to share...

This is not an ATM machine but its a SELF SERVICE checkout system "pick up, scan, pay & go" COOL!!

click for explanation
Does it work here in M'sia?? Ermmm...why not...? would be nice if Jaya Grocer or Cold Storage to have this option*"hi-tech" la sikit..ahaks*

looks like this customer needs some assistance...
maybe her 1st time or not so familiar with the touchscreen technology ;-)

So, that's a bit on New Market but most of the days while MHubs was busy attending a conference at Air New Zealand's office, (like I said earlier its a biz trip for him & leisure for me), I spent half a day at the nearby malls, outlets & shops. Yup...shopping alone!  No problem at all, I'm used to it,  in Singapore, Bangkok, Munich, except Indonesia...Jakarta, Medan, Bandung nope...never, not advisable and I myself don't feel safe walking alone in that hectic cities!

in Auckland City...I'm fine babeh:)))

The morning traffic...

The STRAND is just opposite Crowne Plaza Hotel...

 bakery, restaurants, cafe,small boutiques....

but most of the shops close at 6pm or the latest 7pm.
except FIX convenient store * similar to 7-E in M'sia its 24hrs*

@Metro- movie theatres, a huge Borders bookstore

 & the SkyCity....

Galleria..Prada boutique

lotsa souvenir shops here...

 Got it!!!

New World Supermarket - grocery stuff again;-)

euuuuww...one funny-ugly billboard!

"Its the thought that counts...." ^-^

My usual breakie menu during the 6 days....

The gorgeous Steak Cheese Pie from PieMania...

p.s:  I still owe them 40 cents for this lovely pie...
since I was the 1st customer, no change for a big note as early as 9:00a.m..;-).

My BFF of the week *snap sana snap sini kesian dia hardwork*
...ohhh, the Apple Pie & Hot Choc for supper as well;-)
Hot Choc twice a day..ish ish!

just down the street 5 mins walk from Crowne Plaza Hotel ....still a big NO for me!

Breezing through the city in a cold & windy night...

 ...to the happening place...

This place is chock-a-block at night even it was on weekdays
live music bar...

then back to Crowne....ooopss its already after midnite 'Hotels Quiet Time' ....*SHHHH*
