Hey! Please don't get stressed out with all the 'tense situation' out there. Let's cheer ourselves up with some music & songs on a loveliest weekend with family members. Soto Ayam, Nasi Goreng + teh botol (Avocado Juice/Jus Alpokat- HABIS)...Fai ordered Bakso (no pic sorry)
Taste:  OK average not that superb as compared to Wong Solo but 

so far, the price is reasonable we've  'tapau-ed' nasi campur couple of times for dinner not bad sedapp!

MUZIK KU: MUZIK MU....

Remember my short post on Liyana Fizi?Yeah the indie singer!  Ana Raffali & her famous annoying song "Tolong Ingatkan Aku" was also an indie singer before arrrrrrrghhh...why do I have to mention her name here *sorry no offence to all her fans out there* she's just not my cup of tea.  But still, she won a couple of huge recognitions from the music industry, Juara Lagu Muzik-Muzik & recently ABPBH (Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian). One person like me who rejected her song really does not affect anything at all.

There are loads of indie band/singers out there performing live at Gigs, Clubs, Cafes, Events etc and Liyana Fizi is one of the bunch.  Apparently she's not alone that night she was performing with one of her Estrella's member (Estrella, her band group)..

 We all bertiga tunggu bila la nak habis...*sigh*

The Audience and crowd considered not so encouraging at the Celebrities Club on that particular Friday (1.4.11) night if I were to compare the crowd with Shelah's Drag Army a week before. I believe Liyana has her fans and followers too but I think she's not 'there' yet, I mean in terms of fame or popularity even among indie fans. Who knows..maybe one day she will be as famous as Yuna!.  She's a sweet girl, good voice and pretty cool songs too but maybe lack of versatile in the melody. I'm no expert in making music but enjoy listening to it and appreciate the beautiful lyrics & melody soothing to the ears.  

Melina William performed earlier with Sharon & Zalila Lee (to find out more click here ) Honestly, I don't even know who is Melina William or even her band, Tempered Mental and again Boboy sorang je yang kenal her band  hahaha...

selama 30mins performance asyik tunduk je dahla rambut menutup separuh wajah...ermmm

I slept till late afternoon today, just too tired after the super busy media week and the weekend 'emergency balik kampung'..fuhh! Alhamdulillah, Gramps is fine now & recovering, biasalah bila orang tua sakit memang akan mempanickan semua orang:-(

Busy week continues...'Work from Home' or 'Work@Home' undoubtedly has more advantage in terms of flexi working hours but there are days when you really feel like you're actually working  9:00 to 5:00pm especially when you're in front of the lappy from morning till evening sending emails and calling here n there. Okay! I shouldn't complain when there's work to do coz I also complain when there's nothing to do. Must always be grateful with what we have and luv what we do best!

"Lady Swettenham" was a great show indeed!! Pretty tight schedule this week...Last nite was the movie Premiere at e@Curve with Nuffnangers, tonite this amazing monologue  & another one tomorrow, gig @ Celebrities Club Solaris. Wowie!! Btw, a hectic schedule for entertainment and fun stuff, errr.... I dun mind at all *smiley*

A Date with 'HMM'....

The ticket to watch the most awaited epic Malaysian movie, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa (HMM in short) is now in my hand huhuhu *over excited*

open in cinemas on Thursday,10 Mac 2011...

Even before I watched this movie I already set the bar pretty high & 110% believe this movie is going to be a Movie of the Year!! Not to mention the OST - Sedetik Lebih by Anuar Zain...it's a KILLER song!!!!

Sesebuah filem mesti ada Original Soundtrack nya, sama ada lagu tu HIT atau pun tidak dan bukan semua lagu diingati ramai. I ingat lagi zaman citer Titanic dulu...lagu My Heart Will Go On tu memang 'berhantu'.  Itu Hollywood apa kata kita fokus pada 'Malaywood'... Kalau PGL dulu dengan OST Asmaradana nyanyian Tiara Jacquelina telah membuktikan beliau boleh menyanyi dan menari dengan begitu baik. *I really admire her..she got style & a classy lady* Okayla latest movie by KRU, Magika I rasa OST dia tak cukup ummmpphh, tak ingat pun lagu apa.  Maka sudah semestinya OST bagi produksi besar & hebat Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa ini amatlah ditunggu-tunggu.

MTV OST "Sedetik Lebih" ni telah ditayangkan secara eksklusif dalam Astro Ria last week 6 Jan @ 11:00pm..*hmm..baru je terbaca dalam fb, dah terlepas tak tengok pun* First time dengar lagu ni, I LIKE it and LUV the lyrics too. Biasalah tu bila dengar je suara pria terhebat Anuar Zain ni I otomatik suka pada lagu tu.  Walaupun kehebatan OST ni mungkin tidak setanding lagu-lagu memukau Anuar Zain yang lain seperti Lelaki ini & Keabadian Cinta tapi I percaya kalau uol dah selalu dengar, the soft melody, soothing to the ear....DENGARKANLAH & ANDA TENTUKANNYA SENDIRI!

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa ......

Ha...Movie! Movie! Tetiba terexcited.  It has been a while since my last entry on movie and I just realized that lately there's  no movie outing with friends or family.  Why? What happen to my 'movie kakis'? My last review was EPL - Eat Pray Love, Liz Gilbert.  After that no bowling, no movie, no live band *E'ehh*  EXCEPT cooking, baking & wedding prep.  Wooooiitttttttt BORINGnya!!!  My social life kinda movin' in slow pace now ...uhukkkks  I can feel it.  Nevermind, still can catch up its only the 3rd week of January! Chill la.

So, when a good friend of mine highlighted this on FB last nite, THIS! is definitely a MUST see movie for year 2011.

Stephen Hughes Rahman as Merong Mahawangsa wowieee...excellent choice.  I became one of his fan since his role as Hang Tuah (slang matsaleh pun takpe, dia tetap macho..arrhhh cair memang cair dengar suara dia) in Puteri Gunung Ledang : The Musical (I went for season 2 & 3, missed the 1st one)

You gotta watch the Merong Mahawangsa Trailer, you'll be more thrilled......trust me!

Just a bit of History on Merong Mahawangsa...ehemmm my "Langkasuka"...my "Kedah Zamin Turan" forever & ever tu;-)

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa or The Kedah Annals is an ancient Malay literature that chronicles the bloodline of Merong Mahawangsa and the foundation of the Kedah, a state in Malaysia. Though there are historical accuracies, there are many incredible assertions. The era covered by the text ranged from the opening of Kedah by Merong Mahawangsa, allegedly a descendant of Alexander the Great of Macedonia till the acceptance of Islam.

Merong Mahawangsa was a Hindu and there were nine Hindu rulers before Phra Ong Mahawangsa converted to Islam in 1136 and took the name Sultan Mudzafar Shah. The annal also describes Chola's attack on Kedah.The descendants of Phra Ong Mahawangsa is still ruling Kedah able to trace their lineage from Merong Mahawangsa.

THIS is not AI or any other singing competition, no judge needed, not necessary good in singing or even to have a good voice coz all you need to do is Grab the Mic & Sing it Loud.  Still, I'm the *shy* one when it comes to singing at Karaoke lounge..wuaargghhh:-( Most of my friends are 'Karaoke freak' except me coz I think  most people will 'freak out' with my voice..LoL.  Okayla gotta face the fact that I'm no good in  both singing & dancing and better not embarrass myself or anyone near me. The only thing I'm good at is Complaining *oohnoo!..I'm becoming like my Gramps*

Normally, everytime my friends/ex-colleagues invited me for a Karaoke session, I'm sort of "inclined to decline".  Coz I know I'd end up being the 'audience' & 'back-up singer'...

Hmm..the last Karaoke outing I had was during my farewell with Yellowans after that no more...

Your music interest contradicts with your style and started laughing..ROFL *You're so evil fren!!! Like I care..Maher Zain you're still No.1..muaahhh* Hmm..maybe the aging factor;-)

The Sound of MUSIC...

The sound that always wakes me in the morning, during my naps, disturbance while watching TV at the hall even distracting my phone conversation...no other than the PIANO sound. Well, it becomes a little 'merrier' with the additional GUITAR jam session between the two bros! Fuhh...playing the same songs , the same melody, same beat, over and over again.  Really arrggghhhhh!!!! After a while,  kinda immune to this 'sound of music'. No more sarcastic remarks from me, "can it be louder".."I'm trying to sleep around here"!!! hahahaa

Luckily all the efforts (plus the noise) paid off with the result she obtained from her Piano exam taken in August (oh yeah..the result just came out a few days ago) :

She got a distinction for her graded music (piano) exam. Not bad! It's actually Fantastic!! She started her lesson at the age of 20 which was a year ago and she proved it to us that she can do it!!!  It's never too late for education as long as you have the courage to learn and passionate about your dreams.  Fooyoo! Such an inspirational remark from me;-) Just like the notes from the UK Examiner from The Associated Board of  The Royal Schools of Music.

Ramadhan Al-Mubarak..

We're already on our 4th day of fasting...the usual Break fast menu; all kinds of "kuih-muih" it's best to start with something sweet & light. Lotsa Ramadhan Bazaars around, our choice; either SS18, Subang Jaya or Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI). Variety, clean and acceptable crowds not so 'madness' like Kelana Jaya (KJ).  We prefer to go to the same stall and become regulars, at least we already know the taste but sometimes arrghhh...why not! just "trial and error";-)


Oh yeah..have you heard about Maher Zain...a 28 yr old sweedish singer of a lebanese origin.  I fell in love with the song when I first listened to it during the 'fairy tale' wedding at Sunway Resorts Hotel last Sunday.
