HaPPy HaLLoWeeN..

October 31st....

NO TRICK OR TREAT...NO COSTUME PARTY ....OR GHOST TOUR...JUST HORROR MOVIE hihihihihihihihihihi...*shriek*

Fall in LoVe...

My lovely friend just 'MMS' me this pix...Does anyone really need this book?? Hmm..Maybe...Why not? Check-out the 85 PROVEN TECHNIQUES there...Wow! I'm already impressed even before I read it.  Anyway, I don't think its relevant to me anymore... hahaha.  Those days I just "Follow My Heart", darlin'..;-)

Care for some falling in love quotes folks,  "Sunday Love mode" it is....

It's easy to fall in love.
The hard part is finding someone to catch you.
**
To fall in love is awfully simple,
but to fall out of love is simply awful.
**
Do you want to know the easiest way to fall in love?
Just associate with all your
pleasant experiences with someone,
and disassociate from all the unpleasant ones.
**
Love is 3/4 dream and 1/4 reality.
Problems usually arise when you fall in love
with the dream and not the reality.
But, yet you find true love when you fall in love with both.
Who ever loved that
loved not at first sight
**
There is no difference
between a wise man
and a fool when they fall in love.
**
Love is like quicksand:
The deeper you fall in it
the harder it is to get out
**
One advantage of marriage,
it seems to me,
is that when you fall out of love with him,
or he falls out of love with you,
it keeps you together
until you maybe fall in again.
**
Falling in love doesn't happen just once.
Everytime you hear their voice
after not hearing it for a week;
everytime you see that smile brighten the room;
everytime they make you laugh
when you don't even want to smile;
every kiss hello and see-you-later hug.
Thats when you fall in love;
Not once, but everyday.

JUST Jumpsuit..!

Actually this was our Monday morning 'Shopping  Stroll'  along Jalan Telawi, Bangsar to find ONE thing... JUMPSUIT.
Think Jumpsuit, Shop Jumpsuit...

However, before that we'd planned to have a lovely breakfast at Huckleberry Cafe located inside Times Bookstore at Bangsar Shopping Centre.  We were the 'early birds' at BSC and most of the shops are still closed at 10:00 a.m.  Yeah..obviously we're too early and too hungry. Times Bookstore business hours starts at 10:30 a.m and  Huckleberry Cafe even later at 11:00 a.m *sigh*.  No sign of crepe, cakes or macaroons, no smell of latte or hot chocolate just an empty bar and cozy empty sofas & coffee tables.

The 15 minutes of waiting wasn't wasted, reading GLEE..,taking a few snaps da..da..da..thought at least 'kill' the time, but still can't 'fill' the hungry stomach... then off we go to Telawi for Papa Rich!

See you next time Huckleberry!

From Blook..To GOSS:PS...Next...Cats Whiskers...only 1 left (The biggest size of all)...Next... Tea & Symphaty....dresses, tops but no Jumpsuit, One boutique to another...SOLD OUT! What?! No more jumpsuit left ..All taken!  Bangsar Village - Zara - nil,  Warehouse - 1 available in black but the design a bit too much, Dorothy Perkins - 1 leopard print jumpsuit, a huge NO & Ted  Baker - 1 black formal Jumpsuit, too pricey unless its in "£"....*wink*

Finally found the 'closest target' Jumpsuit not from Bangsar shops but, @The Curve....

pix taken @ SkyPark...a few days after;-)
Oh yeah...met the lovely 'MH Ladies' ...Alin, Ambia, Rowena
& 'thorn among the roses' - Mr. Rizal @ Big Apple *SMILEY*
Lately, a little bit drained of ideas to write...not a good sign I suppose, it usually happens when I'm tied up with lotsa work and trying to tune in to something more serious.  Sounds like I'm finding a reason and explanation to myself for the silence and no entries for the last couple of days here.  Might be due to the few meetings and  appointments I had this week, still adjusting & trying to get back on 'track'.  The 'leisure' period has just ended and more to come very soon;-) Better to be busy than bored!

R.I.P

...PAUL the world-famous 'psychic' octopus died at his home at the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany. You may click here: for the complete news:

Btw, Twitter was swamped today with 'news' 'updates' of PAUL's death - among the 'CrazyFunny' updates:

1.   Paul the Ironic Octopus dies. His last words were "So long, suckers..."

2.   Paul the octopus committed suicide after falsely predicting Rijkaard to replace Hodgson before  the blackburn game.

3.  Anyone want to buy calamari?

4.  England 2018 Ambassador Paul the Octopus has tragically passed away.  What will be your memories of Paul?

Memories??! Hmm..Yez, we were in Germany a few days after the World Cup Finale & he was undoubtedly famous over his perfect predictions then. Spain definitely loves him dearly!!! However,  it would take us around 6hrs journey from Grasbrunn (by train) to Paul's home in Oberhausen.   Regretfully we didn't have the time to do that:-(  Anyway, I did post a few entries on Paul  here..  months ago during the world cup fever..sob sob:-(

Goodbye Pauly!

Brunch & Tea

Sunday Quick Shopping @ Tangs Empire Gallery (Great Sale up to 70%!!) till Nov 7th.  Pick up some groceries at Jaya Grocer. What's quick & easy to cook for the "Three Musketeers" at home?  Hmm..frozen food it is.  Ready-Made Pizza...uols;-)

Cheesy!Yummy! Chicken Supreme .."8mins" brunch menu

Let's have something filling, milky & chocolaty for TEA...

Choc on Choc for Sunday Tea...

In case readers would like to try, just get a box of White Wings Choc on Choc cakemix (RM11.90), frosting mix also included..except the chocolate rice (I still have a few boxes from Amsterdam).  Other basic things you need, 2 eggs, oil *I used olive oil, its your choice*, butter for the frosting.  Preparation time - 10mins and baking time- though it stated 60-65mins on the box but mine just nicely baked after 45mins @ 160'C. Don't worry it depends on the type of oven you use, just follow the rest of the instructions.

Btw, this cakemix really comes in handy when you have guests coming for tea or whenever you feel like having a nice 'just bake' cake at home with your family.  Make baking sweet, simple & absolutely easy for you!

The Malay DiLemma...

I've just started reading this book.  Yeah..shame, shame, shame on me! for taking so long and only now after Tun M, The Musical, have the urge to read itCredit to my bro who bought the book, at least everyone of us can read it.  "Oop! be patient...wait for your turn, let me finish first k guys";-)

Reading & eating.. snacks? cookies? JCo DONUTS - "Cheese Me Up"...

THIS is what we call the real deal...huhuhu!!

book in one hand and a donut in another...

A Quote to Ponder:

Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted;
nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider.
Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed,
and some few to be chewed and digested:
that is, some books are to be read only in parts,
others to be read, but not curiously, and some few
to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.

Happy Weekend everyone!!!!

EPL - Liz Gilbert

Eat Pray Love....The number one bestseller that everyone is talking about

"Elizabeth is in her thirties, settled in a large house with a husband who wants to start a familyBut she doesn't want any of it.  A bitter divorce and a rebound fling later, Elizabeth emerges battered yet determined to find what she's been missing.

So begins her quest.  In Rome, she indulges herself and gains nearly two stone.  In India, she finds enlightenment through scrubbing temple floors.  Finally, in Bali, a toothless medicine man reveals a new path to peace, leaving her ready to love again."

That's the synopsis or a summary at the back cover of the book or blurp in technical writing term.  So, I've finished reading the 349 pages book weeks before  I went to watch the 2 1/2 hrs movie.  Of coz  some characters and details were not mentioned in the movie which might be controversial or too sensitive and the movie will be much longer than this if they were to elaborate on every bits of it.

Anyway that's normal even in the Twilight Series if you read the books - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse they do have some differences in the movie and absolutely 'more' from the books.  I enjoy reading as much as watching movie so for me, both are satisfactory;-)

Liz Gilbert begins her quest in Rome, Italy... (EAT)

The scene in the movie and the story in the book made me want to go to Italy!!!

This is actually the part that I enjoyed most in the movie.  The beautiful Roman sculptures, the expressive and "Loud" Italians including her landlady, an old granny (strict with few ground rules) but so funny with her strong Italian accent..hahaha.  The scene at the busiest coffee shop in Rome where she had the gorgeous Napoleon dessert and met a Swede gal, Sofie who then introduced her to a language tutor, Giovanni (happened to be Sofie's boyfriend) to learn Italian.

Besides learning the language she really indulged herself with the "Good Italian Food"... the best Pizza at Naples and not only having Luca Spaghetti (the itallian guy) as her new friend there but also having the most delicious spaghetti of all time - MammaMia!! ( At this point it really makes me hungry & wanting to have pasta or pizza after the movie just by looking at the way Liz/Julia EATs).    After all that gains, she had to buy 'a big lady jeans' for her....LoL!

Liz long journey of finding spiritual enlightenment continues in India... (PRAY)

Living in Ashram, The "Guru Gita" chant,  meditations technique, scrubbing the temple floors, a 17 year old Indian girl who befriends Liz, Tulsi was forced into an arranged marriage to a stranger.....

Julia Roberts as Liz Gilbert in green Saree...during Tulsi's wedding ceremony

Honestly, the meditation, praying and stuff is a bit draggy even in the book and I found it too long to finish it off and just can't wait to go to Bali....

At least Richard from Texas who called her 'Groceries' save it and brought back the charm...

Richard - (raw, honest, very direct character played by Richard Jenkins)
who told Liz : ''forgive yourself" & "allow yourself to fall in love again"

Here comes the LOVE in Bali.....

She went back to see the old medicine man "Ketut Liyer" who once told her during her 1st visit (2 yrs earlier)  that she will return to Bali one day and teach him English. She's back! But he can't hardly remember who she was...

Ketut Liyer (Hadi Subiyanto):  Oh...you're the girl from California?"...
Liz : No, I'm Liz remember from New York...
Ketut: a'ha Liss...i remember you hihihi

The funny lines from Ketut, "even smile in your liver", "Ketut can not fly because Ketut has no teeth" & "See you later aligator".....go Ketut!!!

She found love with a Brazilian man...Felipe (Javier Bardem - *Penelope Cruz real life hubby*)
scene: at a market in Bali...
Felipe cute explanation on Rambutan - like an orange making love to plum!
Durian..no, no, you wouldn't want that - it tastes like dirty feet..

Liz also helped the Balinese healer lady (they became good friends) Wayan Nuriyashi & daughter Tutti to build a new home for them from the contribution (she managed to raise USD18,000 from her dear friends back home).

All I can say about the movie...Julia Roberts is the perfect person for Eat Pray Love!! Bravo!!!
So ladies, go and watch it with girlfriends, hubby, partner, lover...but not suitable for kids.  All depends on yourself & you'll always be your own best movie critic;-)

You might be interested to know the real people who inspire the movie characters in EPL...

The bestselling author, a writer Elizabeth Gilbert /Liz....

This is her! (of coz on the left  is JR)
The real person,  Ketut Liyer, a medicine man living in Ubud...

Left: Wayan Nuriyashi, the Balinese healer ..
Her character played by Christine Hakim (also known by the locals as the "Meryl Streep" of Indonesia)

Where is Liz Gilbert now??? What happen to Liz and her Brazilian companion Felipe???

The couple live in Frenchtown, New Jersey..

Gilbert's latest book, Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage...errmm, gonna be my next pick *wink*

Seriously, darn sleepy now! *half-closed eyes*  eeeeeekkkk...losing focus pretty soon, better save it for the next post....

"See you later...alligator"

Walk in Style...

"A woman trapped in a girl's body"...have you ever come across any of your friends' daughters or your own niece/s, cousins who happened to dress-up older than their age??! I bet you do..and the first thing that comes to mind,"MoM", parents do play an important role here. There's nothing wrong to make your kids wear something that you like but not to go overboard. I don't think any girl wants to be a fashion victim by her own parent aka 'MoM'. No offense to all beautiful, gorgeous &great MoM out there, I'm no expert just to share thoughts at least to look best as kids at the right age.babeh;-)

I always admired Little Ms. Suri Cruise..she's undoubtedly cute and adorable also a toddler trendsetter. Of coz, MoM Katie Holmes is behind it. Anyway, my point is she wears shoes with heels..yezz (they aren't really stilettos) but perfectly made for a little girl at her age.  Don't you agree with these pix of her...

with matching handbag...floral dress, earings & hairband hihihi

Check-out her RED coat;-)

Suri Cruise the 'fashionista'..!

So, dear Mommys - please do not 'overdress' your princess just remember "less is more"! Make-up is absolutely a huge NO..! Lip gloss still acceptable.  Not necessary to imitate and be as stylish as the celebs' kids. Just stay cute and adorable!!!!

I still remember my MoM used to buy sweet dresses with matching hairbands, ballet pumps for me not only for Birthdays kay...me so girlish  *smiley* I could understand some girls completely hate dresses and they tend to dress-up 'casual' with  Tees, shorts & jeans (speaking of my own sista & niece). Can, but not all the time try your very best to develop the  'Princessy look'.

I love to see babies with hairbands and crochet flower hats too. Hmm..I guess Angelina Jolie would definitely disagree with this since she kept giving statement "Shiloh Jolie-Pitt wants to be a BOY"! and supporting her boyish look..*Hollywood Celeb* No, she's not my neighbour hahahaa....

Cheers!

PARAMORE..

NO MORE  mms text message please!!!!! I know you guys are having so much fun out there and me? Hello...!! I'm stuck here home alone, NO Lady V, NO Gen Doe in short NO car to go out.  Not even to have a sip of my crème brûlée frappuccino *sigh*

One @ Chili's, Empire with the "Deutchland Delegates" and the rest @ BJ for a lively Paramore concert.

Perfecto! Oh dear, I'm stressed...*HELP*

I don't mind about the dinner or the concert, its just that I should've made some plans
for myself...a big mistake P!

Nevermind, since my dear old friend "Mr. Lappy" is still loyally here with me... I SURVIVE

but

can't even transfer a single pix from my handphone (their MMS! ).

I guess 'Lappy' is in a bad mood too.

 Astalavista...

**oops! afraid to go downstairs...hoooooooo   (enough, enough don't be ridicilous)**

My eyes r glued 2da TV watchin' Food Network Asia (706) for hours!!!

Hair Extension....

Back to the 'Hair' topic,  Now, since I've 'colour' on my hair - copper brown with brighter highlights yet to get back my 'blonde', but at least I can wear the clip on hair extension again..yippee!  Simple and easy just clip it at the back of your hair. Walla! Long 'spiral curl' style.. ready in less than 10 minutes before any formal functions.  Its really worth it to have one or more, the fastest way of hair 're-styling'. Pretty quick and easy also economical no need to spend so much money and time at the Salon.

Oh yeah, MHubs bought this hair extension (its made of human hair so it can be cut & re-styled & washed) from Taipei 5 years ago, not bad huh?!of coz with the helped from his colleague, Ms. Farah *wink* Tq Farah! Wah...5 years already! it really last for a long time, yezzz...a little bit of maintenance & care to do;-)hehehe.  Besides that I do have a few wigs  'bob style' and 'pixie' wig.  The first one I bought in Hongkong, good quality and natural. The inexpensive pixie wig is made from synthetic hair (cannot be coloured, permed or  anything) Hmm..not so natural. I 've yet to wear it for any functions.

Isn't it fun to change your hair style anytime at home or even on a holiday trip overseas! Its very expensive to get your hair done (even for wash & blow & definitely more for a hair cut) in London & Europe.

Top item in my Oct shopping list: 'clip-in hair extension'...it's much cheaper than the permanent hair extension and the best thing is you can always change your hair style anytime you like and take it out  by yourself at no charge.

Something like this....

Its RM15.90 per strand (copper colour) at one of the accessories stalls in IKANO.  Recommendable to go to Sungei Wang & BB for more choice and value for money.  Actually, its very easy & cheap to get the clip-in hair extension in the US <^;^>...ermmm!

Luv: P

p.s:  Paramore concert tonite @ BJ hmm..."The Three Musketeers" are going....enjoy uols!

Muzikal Tun Mahathir....

Continuation from my Tun M, The Musical post also a detailed review as mentioned earlier and of coz more pix this time plus my 'hair extension' look how about that? hihihi talk about fashion & style la skit baru tak boring kan;-) Please bear with me till I finish my theater comments then I'll come back to the hair extension wonders kay!

Our tickets for Oct 7th show at Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya
&The Programme Book (RM15)
Since Tun M usually speaks in both Bahasa (in Kedah accent) & English as well as the characters/dialogues in this musical theater, I will then do the same here for my short review .  Yeah... Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa!!

Oh wait, just to share a classic choir vids (in the 50's or 60's) here, accidentally saw this on TV2 (RTM)..once!

Bulan Oktober - Bulan Bahasa Kebangsaan ...oooohhh, baru tau;-)
Cintailah Bahasa Kita!

Pi mai, Pi mai tak jugak cerita pasal Muzikal Tun M adoiiii! Okay..okay...Barisan pelakon Tun M memang  hebat -hebat belaka dan bertenaga! Selalunya bila kita tengok teater selain dari props, jalan cerita so on and so forth yang paling penting sekali teater tu 'tak membosankan' dan 'tak terlalu serius' serta ada la 'lawak sikit'...baru semangat nak tengok, tu yang pergi sampai dua kali for Tun M ni.

Tun M masa remaja dilakonkan oleh Zizan Nin sangat best and bersahaja especially bila dia cakap loghat Kedah memang macam orang Kedah.  Jalaluddin Hassan sebagai Daddy Tun M pun ada tersasul skit loghat kedah dia xmenjadi sangat.  Part lawak Zizan memang lawak sangat!  Cayalah Zizan!

Esma Daniel pulak memang sebijik muka Tun M dengan lagak gaya percakapan, jalan dia cuma satu je ENGLISH dia hahaha ni memang ramai orang perasan sangat teruk pronounciation dia...nak nak Tun M punya english dah lah power kan.  Kesian dia tapi dia cuba sedaya upaya sampai jadik macam budak baru belajar bahasa inggeris pulak.   Suara dia pun ke dalam sikit macam tak berapa clear maybe dia 'soft spoken' kot...hahaha takpalah noo..!

Erra Fazira tersangat cantik in "Baju Kurung Klasik" hijau muda & "Kebaya Merah Jambu"...sangat memukau suara masa menyanyi pun sedap!!!  Macam Misha Omar la jugak masa part akhir menyanyi suara power tapi watak dia sebagai wartawan menginterview Tun M adala dalam 8 minit ...sat saja pun!!!

Overall, lakonan teraju utama teater ni memang successful belaka.  Lagu-lagu dia pun cheeky macam "Ayaq Halia, Ayaq Halia" (Zizan Nin)...."Tampal Poster" or something by Qhaud AF7 dan banyak lagi la tak boleh nak recall!  Oh yeah, Qhaud punya lakonan memang mantap & he really shines! Best pulak tengok dia belakon teater...bolehla belakon lagi.  Watak-watak kecil lain macam Mazhar Mahathir (anak bongsu Tun M) as Mr. Thompson the British guy & French Guy...wow! he really can act and COOL habis!

Part masa tayangan video...oh yeah lupa nak citer, sepanjang teater ni ada big screen kat situ diselitkan tayangan video sebenar Tun M masa dia dilantik jadi PM dulu, masa pilihanraya, ada la gambar masa dia bersanding & also masa dia berucap nak resigned jadi PM kat Perhimpunan Umno di PWTC tu.  Alamak this time I dah sebak and sedih.  Even kali kedua pun I menitiskan air mata especially part masa Erra (Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah) pujuk Esma Daniel (Tun M) suruh pikir betul2 atas keputusan dia nak berenti tu...*sob sob...* tak boleh tahan.  Bravo to both of them...feel 100% macam betul2!  A few penonton besides me pun dah keluarkan tisu:-(

A big round of applause goes to everyone involved in this theater production especially the Director, Rosminah Tahir.  Brilliant!!!!

So, for those of you who missed it, pray la kot-kot ada Tun M, The Musical 2 (maybe) like PGL sampai 3 and Natrah pun dah 2nd one.  Tun M pun tak sempat menyaksikan teater kehidupan dia ni sebab dia sakit kan hospitalized in OZ masa tu.  By the time dia balik teater ni pun dah last day matinee show.  Sayangkan!

Seperti biasa mari kita tengok gambaq!  Time posing-posing dekat Istana Budaya kat lobby la, dalam panggung sari pun ada..biasa la tu!

Theme: Stripes shirt for the guys..
pix from Blackberry really blurry..hmmm
MAKAN dulu at the cafe ...Its a 3-hour show!

Panggung Sari...

break time- 15 minutes pun sempat..hihihi
I think this is the longest entry I've ever typed...better stop right here before my lappy 'overheat'..hiks;-) Oh..!  I'll elaborate more on the 'hair extension' in the next post kay! Otherwise panjang sangat nanti boring nak baca kan....

Luv: P

p.s:  After the show dah midnite tapi still hungry...apalagi 'mamaks time' Bestari@ Dutamas, Solaris (new & classy makan place).  Masa tu all phone low bat takleh amik gambaq ler...
