Plain Jane...

General questions to housewives out there and women at large..
*Do you have fashion sense?
*Do you really care about what you're wearing?
*Do you have time to look at the mirror and criticize your own body or figure?
*Do you dress up for your hubby, boyfriend, children, family or even friends?
*Do you care about your weight?
*Do you treat hygiene as your main priority?

Last but not least..Are you 'conscious' on the basic DOs & Don'ts of dressin' up?

Some Simple and Easy steps to follow & remember..
But not to change you as a 'Supermodel' of course..

The DOs:
* Be smart on choosing your outfit.
* Enhance your assets hides your flaws and get to know yourself well.
* You can dress casually at home but still looking presentable and not just when you go out.

The Don'ts:
* Never ever become a fashion victim by wearing every faddish trend that comes out and trying hard to become Fashionista.
* A big NO to 'pyjamas outfit' outside your home....
* Never wear too bright clothing aka traffic lights outfit plus a heavy make up. You'll look like a clown!

Actually the reason why i'm writing on this topic is purely based on my observation within my vicinity. This was not meant to criticize anyone or anybody in particular, not at all just a topic to share coz i really care, "Sharing is Caring"!

Most women tend to ignore their needs and quality once they have children & being married for years (>5yrs). Mostly the 30-40 year old group. So many women converted to the 'Plain Jane' group. Nothing negative but do they aware or conscious on the changes on them?

Plain Jane-simple and modest; unadorned; basic;

I, myself have been married for almost 11 years without kid but still struggling to maintain the ideal body shape that i'm satisfied with. "I’d like to grow old gracefully. With dignity, elegance, and with lots of fun! To share the time with the man I love. With friends beside me. To cherish my past, savour and relish in my present and look forward to what is to come. I don’t want to out stay my time".

My late mother was actually my lifetime idola. She had more cosmetic stuff in her make up kit than me and she loved skin product till the age of 50's with 5 grown children. Her old time fav were Christian Dior for make up and Amway for skin care. However, 2 years before she died she has put away all her interests entirely and no more dressin' up for her. It was absolutely devastated seeing her in that mood:-(

Anyways, every woman in the world deserve to have their quality time to dress up and look good at all time. Hygiene is the number ONE factor. I understand some people are too busy with kids, career, house chores etc but LOVE yourself, be your own 'designer' and don't let TIME overtake your life.

Different people has different taste and also buying power or capabilities. Doesn't mean cheap things ain't good for you and only those expensive stuff shines. It all depends on how you carry yourself and whether it suits your personality & style.

As usual the main problem or biggest fear of most women are their WEIGHT. After delivery, 1st child ,2nd child so on and so forth here comes the extra fats. Don't let it stop you from dressin' up. Please ...pretty please! Some women i know they look much much older than their age. They tend to ignore their beauty advantages.

The following tips might not be the best but these are what i BELIEVE:-
1. Conscious about your weight not because of beauty but also your health.
2. No need costly cosmetic procedure or major make over.
3. Enhancing Your Looks without Transforming Yourself.
3. Give room to love yourself and care about what you have in you.
4. Every women deserve to look good and attractive.

Entirely YOUR CALL!! Do it or ignore it!!

Birthday Cakes....

Gorgeous & Yummylicious Cakes n Cupcakes...!!! The topic I LIKE 'D' most!!! My family is a cake lover from homemade cakes to Secret Recipes great selection. My late mother used to bake chocolate cakes for our birthdays when we were kids. We never missed any birthday celebration for our family members. Papa, Mama, Gramps, Granny, Brothers, Sisters, Bro-in-Law, Sis-in-Law and niece. It has been a family tradition since we were in Kindy where my big brother and I used to have a combined birthday party attended by our friends and families. My late mom & grandma were the 'party planner'. Will try to dig for the classic photos. I look so innocent.. lol.

As we got older the celebration changes, its more to a dinner gathering with siblings. Speaking of that, i have to plan for 3 upcoming birthdays, June 1st, June 28th & Sept. 18th. Actually a few more but these three are the closest. For my better half, easy peasy - a football theme with Liverpool (YNWA) deco. Cupcakes from Wondermilk - The best choice!

At least a 3kg cake - too big for 5 of us

Cute for a 5 yr old kid...

I guess the acoustic guitar or electric guitar cake would be just perfect for my bro who is the bassist for the unknown band "Cinnobit Placenta"..*wink* Cool! Cool!

This one too girlish...definitely NOT for him;-)

Here comes the most "hype" birthday plan ever...my sista's 21st Birthday on Sept 18. Her requests are as follows:

Venue : KLGCC .
Food : McD
Cake : Piano-cake
Theme : Princess
(she already bought herself a white dress from Elle's Dressing Room-online shopping)

Highly needed a strong "sponsor" from the siblings especially the "Captain of the Ship". But the major issue is "How many friends can she gather?" Most probably 10 the most then the rest of the guests will definitely be our friends huhu....Anyway the challenge is to find a cake shop that can do an excellent deco as these...hmmmm

*Sample photos taken from google. At least can be used as a ref for the potential cake shop.

Ciao for now!!!

My Best Friend's Wedding...

....the 1997 romantic comedy movie starring Julia Roberts , Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz & Rupert Everett. Julia Roberts was the main attraction for me to watch the movie and she is my all time fav actress, luv her million-dollar smile, her style just everything about her. PRETTY WOMAN!

Anyway, this post is not about Julia or Cameron or even the movie, its all about my own best friend's wedding which was held on April 16, 2010. The solemnization ceremony took place at Masjid As-Salam at Puchong Perdana followed by a wedding dinner at Putra Rooms, Palm Garden IOI Resort, Putrajaya.

Promo @ the lobby
For a specific reason, it was stated as "Family Gathering Dinner"...

Finally, my best friend of 15 years tie the knot with his long time partner in a modest and private wedding ceremony attended by close friends and family members only. She looks sweet in pearl white "kurung moden" for the solemnization and dusty pink "kebaya" for the evening dinner. Luv the pink shoes! Both dresses fit her well. Not bad at all for a "last minute" planning. Except the groom's outfit, it was a major failure seriously horrible. She did everything by herself that's the reason why:-( Btw, i chose to wear my pinkish collection to compliment the Couple.

As usual wedding dinner=old friends gathering...so true! Met the ladies, used to be our "hartamas lepaqis" and some of my juniors, the bride's classmates. No Hot Gossips just a brief chat i guess nothing much to talk about except the common Qs to break the ice..So, How's life? Are you still working in the same co? Your Hubby coming? Boringggg.....!!!

I was supposed to be the MC for the night but preferred to be one of the guests only. Maintain a low profile..ehemmm;-) Sorry sweetie!!! My apologies. Really, no specific reason okay. My bro volunteered himself. Luckily, he's up to my standard hahaha ...and their family adore him.

The dinner ends @ 10:30pm.

Wish both the bride & groom all the best on their marriage...CONGRATS!!!!!!

Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

Golfer's Terrace...

Our dinner at Chawan has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances by Sis G. A little frustrated that morning coz was so eager to see both of them. But for their sake, will always be right here waiting;-) Still have another 3 weeks before Sis G flies off to OZ for good:-(

The X-KGNS meet up was on scheduled at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC). Wow..Impressive refurbishment!! A very classy & cozy interior indeed..Luv it to the max! Lunch @ the newly renovated Golfers' Terrace with a classic touch design, the noticeable old rusty colour ceiling fan and the unfinished wooden block ceiling something like "Chaparral House". Added by the Golf Course breeze just perfect for a PASTA menu & fresh juice for today's lunch. The ambiance & the company brought the memories to our good old days @ KGNS.

As usual the lunch time had dragged on for 1 1/2hrs if not because of my dear frenz working commitment n lunch hour policy we'd be there till high-tea hahahaa....Took a brief tour around the clubhouse. Among others, golfers' changing room & the Bowling Alley plus Movie Theater room. Thumbs up to the cool & modern ID touch. The good news is its OPEN to PUBLIC. Gonna be our next "chillin' pot";-)

Still brand new

"what-to- wear"...

My calendar this week is filled up with appointments with "girlfriends". Wednesday with my beloved 'ex-yellowans' @ Chawan Bangsar. Thursday with my ex-kgns @ KLGCC and Friday my BFF's big Day @ IOI Resort. The Long-Awaited Wedding.

The biggest issue here is "wardrobe". Hmm...tough decision. Seems like nothing new and attractive to choose from my personal collection. BORING!! For Chawan and KLGCC not so crucial but the wedding dinner really is, plus i've been appointed as the MC (actually forced to be)*sigh* what a short notice less than a week - just great my friend, as much as i'm happy for your wonderful day!!

Did my threading @ Hema this afternoon, one down. Wash n blow will be tomorrow back to my fav Salon @ SS15 hope its open. Pretty please...missed his magic touch. Since no time to buy and tailor a new "kebaya" or "baju kurung" will have to rotate whatever i have in the wardrobe. Que Sera Sera...

Btw, the 'sophis' dress i ordered from Elle's Dressing Room has already arrived & its with my friend who helped to order it for me. So happy the stock still available, lucky ME! Maybe will get it from her tomorrow. Oh yeah..i can wear that for my KLGCC's appointment. Brilliant! Hope not too overdress for lunch. Will have to see first whether its suitable or otherwise.

Wokay, will do an official reporting on the above with supporting pix accordingly;-) I've made a promise to myself that i will try to write as frequent as i can in this blog maybe not a daily journal but at least a complete weekly story. Fuyoo! Hope it last and consistently updated.

Gotta go now..Ciao!

As a girl/woman/lady we LOVE to DRESS UP...

Back 2 Nature...

Sunday mood..we've planned to go for a jog at the park around 5pm or so. The idea was to go to TTDI park. First, to stop by @ Setia Eco Park 'sanctuary' somewhere at the construction area which i'm not sure where till we've got there hmmm...based on the 'wiseman' info there were many cars parked along the roadside yesterday and group of families walking up the hillside towards the reserved forest. Curious..Why? What's up there? However, as for today, we saw nothing but the Indonesian workers "Rumah Kongsi" and the suggestion to go there was absolutely irrelevant!!

It was drizzling when we reached the entrance of Kiara Park. OMG, the super active monkeys kinda welcomed us to Kiara Park, ooh..oow! hate to say that we're horribly afraid of monkeys just like our previous holiday at Club Med, Botanical Garden Penang, Lata Kinjang @ Templer Park. These monkeys can be very violent...usually the guest/visitors were not allowed to feed the monkeys. Bloody scary seeing those monkeys swinging on the tree, moved together in a bunch with baby monkeys chasing food from the middle age couple who came purposely to feed them. Freeze...for a minute or two n walked slowly trying to pass by without even looking. Can't think of "Snip,Snap,Smile at that very moment. So no monkeys pix to be included in this post..maybe next time. Definitely will not volunteer myself to be the photographer. No,No,No!

The creeks were a bit pathetic at the beginning but later to the end at least there's still water rather than just sands. I guess the city people desperately needing a recreational park with waterfall and creek. Anyway, the man made waterfall was closed, no water flow...the stagnant water was murky. Above all, the natural environment of the park really soothing and relaxing INDEED!

Zrooommmmm....heavy rain @ TTDI. Time to go before my hair get wet;-)
Headed to Kapitan for an early dinner. Had our fav 'Roti Pisang'. Perfecto *wink*

That's about all for our Sunday's outing.

Beautifying myself...

I know...i was two days away from my 'hairdo' target date. Yeay! its 'D' day to fix it. After 3 hours at the salon the results was almost satisfactory though not the glamorous blonde highlights as yet but at least i can go out with a flowy straight hair & even colour tone. Thank god it still can be saved by the hairdresser whose responsible of damaging my black and quite healthy HAIR!!!!!

So happy to share the BEFORE & AFTER pix of the hairdo process. Just for my own record on the ups n downs of my hairstyle dayz. None of my close friends will ever believed the BEFORE shot was my hair, that's for sure. So Hideous..

The beautifying process continues with a control diet but not so rigid on the menu like vegie or fruits only..i guess the dietitian out there will never ever concurred with my way of dieting...hahaaa

Dinner Menu @ 7pm
1. Pancakes w Strawberry Jam & Nutella
2. Double Dutch Walls ice cream for dessert

A perfect combo for a sweetest dinner...I LIKE;-)

Chat, Chill & Dine...

First pit stop @ Cake Walk Ara Damansara for a fabulous 'Bandung Soda' really refreshing on a very hot hot day! The bread n butter pudding looked very tempting indeed and can't fight the feeling to have a plate filled with rich custard sauce. hmmm...yummylicious! The half an hour waiting for Lolly to finish her Piano Lesson was really short and fast.

Here come the survey discussion day...which is today @ Menara IGB, Mid Valley! The topic of the chat or group discussion was COFFEE. Pretty interesting, common & the most related to my daily lifestyle though i'm more to a TEA drinker;-) But still strong with my opinion on the BEST coffee & the significant AROMA of a good coffee brew. NESCAFE will always be my 1st choice & everlasting brand name in the market for sure.

There were 8 participants involved in this survey from a different background but surprisingly we felt very connected at the very 1st hour already. We were on the same page and same wavelength on the topic being discussed. Refreshment & simple games picked up by the researcher were satisfying. No room for sleepiness or bored. 3in1 White Coffee sachet from a particular brand was then disclosed and we were very supportive and happy with the idea though we did express our honest opinions and suggestions. Hopefully for the betterment of the product. The incentive of RM100 was attractive and worth it for a 2 hours discussion. We had a very fruitful & chill discussion i would say, positive outcome for the researcher to proceed with the necessary. PERHAPS.....

I guess the energy and the thinking really made me starving. Meatballs, chicken chop, quarter chicken with potato/brocolli/carrot,pasta @ IKEA...cool choice for an early dinner. Ordered but chicken chop was SOLD OUT! Luckily my frustration was covered by the delish meatballs. *Burp* excellent dinner!

As usual the meal has to end with something sweet, a cone of ice cream was just perfect. And..Take away the never missed and ever wanted hotdogs by Boboy & Lolly.

Show Ends...tiring n hectic day!!!

Toodlez;-)

That's the menu for our dinner tonite specially cooked by Auntie. Delicious!! Yummy!! Among the three choices, I definitely chose dessert as my main dish..'A sweet tooth' forever n ever;-
