MUZIK KU: MUZIK MU....

Remember my short post on Liyana Fizi?Yeah the indie singer!  Ana Raffali & her famous annoying song "Tolong Ingatkan Aku" was also an indie singer before arrrrrrrghhh...why do I have to mention her name here *sorry no offence to all her fans out there* she's just not my cup of tea.  But still, she won a couple of huge recognitions from the music industry, Juara Lagu Muzik-Muzik & recently ABPBH (Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian). One person like me who rejected her song really does not affect anything at all.

There are loads of indie band/singers out there performing live at Gigs, Clubs, Cafes, Events etc and Liyana Fizi is one of the bunch.  Apparently she's not alone that night she was performing with one of her Estrella's member (Estrella, her band group)..

The Audience and crowd considered not so encouraging at the Celebrities Club on that particular Friday (1.4.11) night if I were to compare the crowd with Shelah's Drag Army a week before. I believe Liyana has her fans and followers too but I think she's not 'there' yet, I mean in terms of fame or popularity even among indie fans. Who knows..maybe one day she will be as famous as Yuna!.  She's a sweet girl, good voice and pretty cool songs too but maybe lack of versatile in the melody. I'm no expert in making music but enjoy listening to it and appreciate the beautiful lyrics & melody soothing to the ears.

I slept till late afternoon today, just too tired after the super busy media week and the weekend 'emergency balik kampung'..fuhh! Alhamdulillah, Gramps is fine now & recovering, biasalah bila orang tua sakit memang akan mempanickan semua orang:-(

Busy week continues...'Work from Home' or 'Work@Home' undoubtedly has more advantage in terms of flexi working hours but there are days when you really feel like you're actually working  9:00 to 5:00pm especially when you're in front of the lappy from morning till evening sending emails and calling here n there. Okay! I shouldn't complain when there's work to do coz I also complain when there's nothing to do. Must always be grateful with what we have and luv what we do best!

The Celebrities Club @ Solaris, Mont Kiara

Grand Chandelier at the entrance...

Its also called Celebrities Hall of Music, a new stage (considered new coz they just opened in April last year)  for an urban performing arts with lounge & restaurant concept.   A very cozy interior with multi-levelled semi-circle booth seats and tiny round tables...I just luv the 'Jazzy' touch, absolutely a stunning Club! Btw, it's owned by our Malaysian R&B Queen, Ning Baizura, she definitely has an impeccable taste in opening such a classy Club like this.

That's 'SHELAH' Edwin Sumun's stage name.  1st time seeing him as a drag queen, berkebaya konsep batik 1Malaysia lagi with matching shoes (ala tak nampak).  Lawak 18sx skit la...bila dia nyanyi suara not bad sedap gak but then got distracted by his next sexy outfit ...hahaha

Guess what?! Just before the show, dalam sibuk2 mencari spot menarik nak duduk & my hubs decided to sit kat atas-atas (dia takut kena tarik atas pentas hahaha tak sporting betul) tetiba bump into my friend from the Yellow telco, the jovial Shireen Koh, she & the whole Yellowans gang (tapi I tak brapa kenal).  So she joined us and 'dumped' her friends..ahaks!.  It was nice to see her again after more than 2yrs...catchin' up on the Yellow HQ stories.  The show...Okayla, entertaining and  humorous.

"Run...run..faster...SLASH is already performing"... heard a group of girls screaming from the back! Oh..Please Chill babes..it's just 2 minutes walking to the surf beach/ concert zone for god' sake! Die hard fan i suppose *bluekk*.  Btw, we reached the entrance at about 8:05pm and it was crowded, no queue, no designated lines for PS1 or PS2 tickets  or whatsoever.  So, generally, people own rules...PUSH IN! Fuhh...lucky we managed  to get inside in less than 10mins, imagine the smell, the sweat n all kind of people. We missed the opening act by AMY, great.. just great! blame it to the traffic and the parking "horror". As usual the hectic and congested place like Sunway with or without concert, its the same but  STILL...the most popular venue for most concerts.

AWESOME performance by Slash and the band lead singer, Miles Kennedy (a Kurt Cobain look alike) he's a gorgeous hunk! "love at a first sight" for me...hohohoo so 'poyos' ;-) view the video and judge it for yourself, see whether you agree with me...

The concert started at 7pm or maybe earlier than that and ended around 9:50pm.  Its perfectly on time, a very good timing by the organiser...unfortunately, quite a number of peeps arrived late, its Thursday and working day so most of them might be coming from the office and had to face the horrible traffic! However, I believed all the spectators had a good time either the 'early birds' or even the 'late comers'.  Kudos to Firefly!

SLASH vs AMY ...

The Rock Icon SLASH is here LIVE in Malaysia...!! Pheeewiiiiiiiiit... AMY Search Malaysia  rock star legend as the opening act of the concert. Coolness...I LIKE Amy!! Not to say that I do not like Slash, back in the 80's - 90's was crazy bout the Guns N' Roses classic hits "Sweet Child O' Mine" ;-)  We've missed The MTV World Stage last week because of other function which was more close to me & my interest, the Lewre Couture 2010 latest collection mini show... that's one thing, also because there's no sponsored tickets from Telco Blue hahaha... sounds so cheapo.

Actually, since my Airlines' days to the Telcos and till now I feel so blessed to have contacts and also good friends who always remember ME for any hype events happening in KL or even in Genting. Complimentary & VIP seating definitely a plus, an absolute double joy!  Thanks a million to my dearest friends you know who you are... if you read this note and visit my blog *wink*

MTV World Stage 2010....Return

Yes...its back!! MTV World Stage 2010 Live in Malaysia again, this time with Katy Perry, Tokio Hotel, Wonder Girls and our very own local band Bunkface.

Last year they brought in American All Rejects, Hoobastank, Boys Like Girls, Raygun, Kasabian, Pixie Lot for the big bang!!!!! Honestly m not that familiar with some of the bands except 'AAR' but keepin' up with the groove wasn't so difficult anyway.  It was a very energetic opening by Estranged...they're pretty cool and awesome.  I like them a lot.
